The Wednesday session runs from 6:45pm to 8:15pm on Wednesday nights and is held in the Upper Gymnasium of the University of Wales Newport Sports Centre, Caerleon Campus, PO Box 179, NP18 3YG, inside the university grounds (click here for a map). This site provides facilities for both beginners and more advanced fencers. If you are interested in attending the Beginners Course held at the UWN then please click here.

Equipment is provided for those without their own kit (jackets, masks, foils, gloves and ladies chest protectors) and electric boxes (both two weapon and three weapon models) are in regular use. The centre has its own dedicated car park and refreshments are available.

General Information about Gwent Sword Club

Gwent Sword Club provides a stimulating and friendly and informal environment for those looking to learn and practice the sport of Fencing. Facilities include:

• Spacious practice halls.
• Full beginners kit provided.
• Instruction from Professional Coach and three assistant coaches.
• Access to electrical fencing equipment.
• A chance to participate in competitions and internal club competitions (not compulsory).
• Monthly and weekly fees to suit different needs.
• Regular club social events.

• Monday 19:30 - 21:30 at the Beaufort Centre, St. Julian's, Newport
• Wednesday 18:45 - 20:15 at the UWN Sports Centre, Caerleon, Newport
• Friday 18:30 - 20:30 at Chepstow Leisure Centre, Chepstow
